Northern Pacific Airways, a new low-cost carrier, has announced its first route which will launch in June. The airline will operate a weekend service between Ontario International Airport (ONT) and Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) with its Boeing 757 fleet. The flights will take just an hour, making it a quick and affordable option for weekend breaks to Las Vegas.

The airline aims to attract passengers looking for a convenient mode of transportation as driving between Los Angeles and Las Vegas takes over four hours. The low-cost carrier will face competition from Southwest Airlines and Frontier Airlines. The first revenue flights are now available for purchase with prices starting at $69 one way.

The airline eventually plans to operate connecting flights between the US and Asia from Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport. Northern Pacific Airways hopes to establish itself in other locations such as Mexico in the future. The profitability of the airline’s initial route with its 757 fleet is uncertain, but the airline is excited to achieve a significant milestone and begin operations in June.
