A passenger of Delta Air Lines was arrested for activating an emergency exit slide and opening one of the plane’s doors, causing a delay for Delta Flight 1714 from Los Angeles International Airport to Seattle.

The incident occurred when the Boeing 737 was on the runway, preparing for takeoff. The FAA reported that Delta staff initially detained the passenger before local law enforcement arrested them. The FAA is currently investigating the matter while Delta and Los Angeles airport police have yet to release any additional information.

Affected customers will be accommodated on a new aircraft, and Delta apologized for any inconvenience and travel delays. Delta CEO reiterated his call for a ‘no-fly’ list for disruptive passengers, with DOJ responding.
