San Bernardino International Airport (SBD) has reported record-breaking results in its annual operational report, showcasing impressive growth in its air cargo activity. The airport achieved a major milestone in 2022, surpassing one-billion pounds of all-cargo aircraft landed weight, cementing its position as a top cargo airport in the US.

In 2022, SBD saw an incredible 1.39 billion pounds of all-cargo aircraft landed weight, marking a 60% increase from the previous year and a 197% gain since 2020. This growth rate places the airport among the top 30 cargo airports in the US, up from the top 60 in 2020 and the 102nd position in 2018.

Mark Gibbs, the Director of Aviation at SBD, attributed the airport’s success to its unmatched convenience, robust logistics infrastructure, and prime location in the highly competitive Southern California market. Gibbs added that SBD’s ability to sustain double-digit growth in air cargo activity year after year is a testament to the value the airport delivers to its partners.

With its impressive growth in air cargo activity, San Bernardino International Airport is poised to continue its ascent in the rankings of top cargo airports in the US.
