A JetBlue passenger made a bomb threat after missing his flight, which led to the evacuation of the plane upon landing at Los Angeles International Airport.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department stated that the passenger had made “concerning comments about his luggage” when he missed his flight from Las Vegas to Los Angeles. Flight 879 left 37 minutes late and arrived at LAX shortly after 2 p.m, with pilots isolating the plane from the rest of the airport.
Passengers and crew were allowed to deplane only at 3:20 p.m. once the police and firefighters were called to investigate the threat. The luggage aboard the flight was cleared after an investigation was conducted by the police, who concluded that the comments made were out of frustration and not a real threat. The passenger was issued a misdemeanor citation for violating airport rules.
