Ontario International Airport (ONT) achieved a significant milestone in April 2023, recording its highest-ever passenger count for a single month. The airport’s success reflects its continuous growth and sets the stage for a bustling summer season.
International passenger numbers soared by an impressive 138% compared to the same period last year, with over 34,000 international travelers utilizing the airport in April. Domestic passengers also experienced a steady increase of 7.5% compared to 2022, totaling nearly half a million passengers for the month. Overall, passenger traffic surged by almost 12%, surpassing 530,000 individuals.
This remarkable performance aligns with the airport’s previous double-digit growth reported in March, suggesting a positive trajectory for Ontario International Airport. Atif Elkadi, CEO of the Ontario International Airport Authority, expressed optimism about the airport’s strong growth, highlighting its ability to restore international services while many other California airports face challenges.
